The RIGBY LAKE RUMBLE TRIATHLON will be held on Saturday, July 8th, 2023 at Jefferson County Lake in Rigby. In addition to there being both a SPRINT & OLYMPIC distance, we will also be having a KIDS Triathlon which will start as we get near the end of the SPRINT & OLYMPIC races.
The RIGBY LAKE RUMBLE TRIATHLON is usually our biggest triathlon of the year in Eastern Idaho! Come and Race with Tri Peaks Epic Events!

ID 83442 (Look for our tent and flags)—if you do NOT want to pay to
enter the Rigby Lake area, simply call us and we will run the packet
out to you at the park entrance.

RIGBY LAKE ENTRANCE & PARKING—If you do not have a season pass to get in or do NOT want to pay to get your PACKET PICKUP on Friday, simply call us and we will run it out to you. Each racer will receive 1 FREE VEHICLE PASS for the race Saturday in your race packet. We ask that all additional vehicles pay the gate fee as this supports improvements to the amazing Rigby Lake facilities. Please do NOT park in the finish line area by the large shelter.
Staging of BIKES / TRANSITION AREA will be Saturday morning from 6 – 6:45. An ALL PARTICIPANTS MANDATORY RACE MEETING will be held that morning at 7:00 am.
The SWIM portion of the RIGBY LAKE RUMBLE TRIATHLON will begin on the west side of the lake, heading direct east, then head back west to another buoy on the north and then back directly south just west of the slide. The SPRINT racers will do 1 lap, and OLYMPIC racers will do 2. The KIDS will be a simple swim right along the buoy’s near the entrance/exit on the south/west portion of the lake. There will be Jefferson County Search & Rescue personnel and multiple kayaks/paddleboards on the reservoir for safety.
The BIKE section of the RIGBY LAKE RUMBLE TRIATHLON will be a mostly flat course for both the Sprint, Olympic & Kids races. The SPRINT & OLYMPIC course will begin with exiting through the parking lot of the lake (avoiding speed bumps!) onto Rigby Lake Road. It will continue down to 400 North and turn RIGHT just past Westmark Credit Union, onto Stockham Boulevard, then another RIGHT onto 3950 North (Annis Highway). Racers will continue until you have a LEFT turn onto 700 East (Menan/Lorenzo Highway). You will continue down to the base of the Annis Butte Cemetery for the SPRINT TURNAROUND. Sprint racers will follow this same path back to Jefferson County Lake. The OLYMPIC course continue over the Butte until they hit 3600 East and turn RIGHT and continue North towards the Menan Buttes. The turnaround point will be just past the East Butte Road, and then return on the same path back to Jefferson County Lake. There will be volunteers and police at all major intersections—Use CAUTION on all corners and watch for gravel, cattle, and random farm sprinklers! There will be a minor AID STATION that will have bottles of water only on the OLYMPIC course, nothing on the SPRINT course. You will be coached on where to dismount your bike and get ready for your run. The KIDS bike course will exit the lake through the parking lot and continue down Rigby Lake Road, turn right on Stockham Boulevard to 3950 North (Annis Highway), and then another right turn onto 400 North, back to Rigby Lake Road and return to the transition area.
The RUN portion of the RIGBY LAKE RUMBLE TRIATHLON will begin from the bike transition area and make almost 1 loop around Rigby Lake to the main entrance/exit. Runners will continue down Rigby Lake Road. The SPRINT RUNNERS will turn around just in front of Point S. The OLYPMIC RUNNERS will continue past this point and turn right onto Stockham Boulevard and then another right onto 3950 North. Olympic runners will continue to the turnaround point at Junkhouse Road. There will be an additional aid station at this turn around. Please hydrate well racers! The KIDS run will be one complete lap around Rigby Lake. We will have volunteers at all major road crossings as well as the entrance back into Rigby Lake. Please be nice to other people using the walking path. Run hard…there is a FINISHER MEDAL waiting for you after you pass the FINISH ARCH!
There will be the following 9 categories in both the SPRINT, OLYMPIC & KIDS divisions of the race. There will be trophies for the OVERALL WINNER in both of the divisions for males & females, and metal awards for both 1st and 2nd place in each of the categories for each division, for both men & women. Any category changes for participants must be handled by 12 pm Friday in order to get the information to the timing company.

Stick around after the race as we will have an award presentation! Trophy’s will be awarded to the overall SPRINT, OLYMPIC & KIDS finishers& females, plus medals to the 1st and 2nd place finishers in each category for both male and female. There will also be some other great prizes and swag given away plus and additional trophy for the MICHAEL HAYES INSPIRATIONAL AWARD. Don’t miss this ceremony!
